"i love beauty, it's not my fault."

finally watched the documentary on valentino. it was good.
valentino is for certain truly talented. the house hasn't been the same since he left, but i feel like he made the right move. he would've had to compromise himself as a designer had he stayed, and it would've ruined him.

the documentary gave you all different sides of valentino -- inspired, happy, energetic, stressed, proud, angry, impatient, nostalgic, loving, grateful, but most of all, the true romantic at heart that he really is.

seeing his relationship with giammetti was also really touching.  i don't think i could name another duo who play off each other like these two do. nothing is ever forced between them, and you can see how much they trust each other. never corny, always genuine.

and who could not love their five pugs? so adorable

saw the documentary, "Bill Cunningham" tonight at the 2nd avenue theatre.
in a city so vain and full of superficial ideals, Bill Cunningham is a humble man with such a passion for what he does.  finding that alone in a lifetime is hard enough, but his ability to have kept such a strong sense of integrity throughout the years was what was truly remarkable. it's nice to know that someone like him lives in this city.

definitely enjoyed this documentary. highly recommend it.

picture me

just finished watching the documentary "picture me," by sara ziff about life as a model--the glamorous life, the season, the pressure.  it talks about both highs and lows, and comes straight from first hand accounts. her and her boyfriend filmed the cuts since she first started modeling, which is what really drew me in wanting to watch it.

katia (one of RL's main models throughout the years) is also in here and she looks so young!

after having seen this it made me fall in love with sara as she's so.... grounded.
