feeling loved

today's my 25th birthday.

i've been looking forward to this day for the last couple of weeks now for the following reasons:
-i'm genuinely EXCITED to be 25.  and it feels really good. to feel this way.
-one of my best friends is coming up from maryland to spend the weekend in the city together.  so touched that she'd make the trip up to celebrate with me.  this is the first time i won't be home in maryland to celebrate my birthday, so her coming up is my piece of home this year <3
-am having dinner with a group of girls that help me count my blessings, that have a lot of reasons to celebrate anything, in addition to it being my birthday tonight
-will be having a party afterwards downtown in LES with friends that i haven't seen in a while, and i feel blessed that they're coming out tonight to celebrate my birthday.  feeling really special, and so loved.
-wearing heels tonight for the first time this summer.  twisted my ankle back in may and have been wearing flats since.  was planning on going shoe shopping right when a girlfriend said that her birthday gift to me would be a pair of heels knowing how much i've been looking forward to wearing them.  <3

thanks everyone for making me feel the way i feel today.
will be smiling about this one for quite a while

Today was my Grandfather's 80th birthday -- in Korea, 80 is a particularly significant milestone and in efforts to show him our love, my sister and I made a video for him (haven't seen him since January, and he lives in Korea).

Definitely had some failed attempts..

i'm turning 25 this summer--

i feel like i've done nothing but complain about me turning a year older these past few birthdays. if you had asked me how i felt about turning 25 a couple years ago, i probably would've been dramatic and said that my world was coming to an end and that i didn't want to think about it.

but i'm actually really looking forward to turning 25 this year.

i don't remember the last time i wished i were "___ yrs old" again.
what's the point? it's not happening, and to be honest, i like where i am now.
quarter century sounds dramatic, but it's been my best year yet.

i wanted to make something special for him, so i decided to make a video (my first!) of our trip to hawaii. it was a lot more work than i thought it would be, but i really enjoyed making it.
